At AV Programming Associates, we advertise that we do Crestron programming for both residential and commercial applications. When we say “commercial,” you likely think of “business,” because that’s what commercial means. The word, according to the Cambridge Dictionary, is an adjective that is “related to buying and selling things.” So, it makes sense that you would think that AVPA only offers Crestron programming services for homes and companies. But that’s not the case.
A good amount of the projects we do are for neither residential nor commercial customers. Recently, we’ve been doing a lot of work with government agencies, educational institutions, and nonprofit organizations.
Crestron Programming for Government and Military Buildings
Government organizations of all types can benefit from the customized functionality provided by Crestron programming. One of our most recent successful government projects was with the Riverside County (CA) Board of Supervisors. We provided them with the programming of their Crestron system so they could easily control the entire building’s audio, video, lighting, and meeting management systems.
We’ve also done Crestron programming for city buildings, county courthouses, public utility facilities, and even federal buildings, like the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
Military bases and command centers are also great candidates for Crestron programming. For example, the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) at March Air Reserve Base in Southern California recently had AVPA complete Crestron programing work to give their facility some much-needed functionality. They can now use their EOC to help with training, strategic planning, monitoring classified operations, and more.
Crestron Programming for Educational Institutions
Institutions of learning, such as colleges, universities, technical schools, and even primary and secondary schools are seeing the advantages of using Crestron programming in their facilities. The need for customized AV systems was highlighted when many schools went exclusively to virtual learning during the coronavirus pandemic. Some schools were well prepared for the shift to online classes, while others had to scramble. We suspect that we will continue to see an increased demand for customized AV systems as schools continue to offer virtual options into the future.
Crestron Programming for Churches
Just like schools, many churches went online when the coronavirus pandemic hit. Churches with a robust AV system most likely had a much easier time making the transition to online services than those without one.
Not every church needs a custom-programmed AV system, but larger churches—especially those with satellite campuses—could definitely benefit from a Crestron system that is tailored to their specific audio and video needs.
Final Thoughts
While corporate buildings, entertainment venues, hotels, and other commercial enterprises can benefit greatly from Crestron programming, they aren’t the only ones! Almost any facility in need of advanced audiovisual functionality would be a great candidate for Crestron programming. If you’d like to learn more about how AVPA can help, contact us today.
