When a homeowner or business is in need of Crestron products to control their audiovisual environment, their first call is often to a local Crestron dealer. These are the people who are authorized by Crestron to sell Crestron equipment and the ones who typically work with the end user (the client) to design their audiovisual systems.
When a Crestron dealer has a client who needs specialized functionality for their audiovisual system, that’s when they often find they need to bring in a Crestron programmer like AVPA. Our team then comes in as a subcontractor on the project, working under the Crestron dealer, to give their client the customized functionality they are looking for. Our contract is usually with the dealer, as opposed to the end user. This is similar to how a general contractor on a building project would bring in specialists like plumbers or electricians to complete certain aspects of a larger project.
At AVPA, we’ve worked hard over the years to maintain great relationships with the Crestron dealers in our service areas—and not just because they bring us work. We understand that when we are brought in to a project by a Crestron dealer, they are trusting us to handle an integral part of the larger project. It is often their more discerning clients that need the type of Crestron programming we do, so we need to do the job right the first time. We also need to make sure we do everything we can to keep the project on schedule. If the Crestron programming portion takes longer than it should, it holds up the work that needs to be done after us, and neither the Crestron dealer nor the client want that. We recognize that we are part of a team, and if we fumble the ball, it affects everyone.
It’s this type of “team” mentality that Crestron dealers love about working with AVPA, and it’s why they call us again and again to help us with their projects.
