AVPA is proud to announce that one of our recent residential projects, for which we did the Crestron programming, won a top award at CEDIA’s 2017 Home Technology Professional Awards competition! Specifically, the award was for “Best Integrated Home – Level IV” in the Americas. Level IV refers to a project with a budget of $450,000 or more. The winners were announced earlier this month at the CEDIA Celebration hosted on the USS Midway in San Diego, and the winning entries have now been sent on to the Global competition in London.
CEDIA, which stands for Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association, is an international trade association that supports the electronic systems industry through education, certification programs, research, advocacy, and by recognizing achievements within the industry. They are considered the leading global authority of the home technology industry. As such, CEDIA’s Home Technology Professional Awards are highly coveted and very competitive, especially awards in the Best Integrated Home category, which are considered some of the top awards in the competition.
The award-winning project, a luxury oceanfront home in San Diego, was one we worked on with our friends at Land & Sea Entertainment in San Diego, a company we’ve been partnering with since 2011. Land & Sea did all of the design and installation for the home integration, and our team at AVPA was responsible for all of the Crestron programming. It was a great partnership, and out of it came a truly remarkable home!
This San Diego home is one of the most fully integrated homes we’ve ever worked on. We gave the homeowners the ability to control just about every system in their home including lights, shades, security, music, fireplace, spa, video doorbell, and air curtain. In addition, the system features complete integration of the HVAC system using BACnet, one-button control of their beach lights, and control of their whole house audio and video system from one “party” page with dynamic presets and the ability to mix with their whole-house mic.
The homeowners are able to control the various systems from Crestron panels, Crestron handheld remotes, as well as from their iPads and iPhones. And they have access to their home’s systems from anywhere in the world!
In our opinion, the reason this project was selected as the winner over all of the other excellent entries in this category was due to the attention to detail in the design, programming, and installation. We also had the privilege of working with a homeowner who had a clear vision of what he wanted for the home and allowed us to do some cutting-edge work to give him exactly what he wanted and produce an end product that is truly remarkable!
It’s always gratifying to receive major industry awards like this one from CEDIA, but in the end, it’s even better to have an extremely happy customer. However, in this case, we were able to do both!
We’d love to have the opportunity to help you get the fully integrated home you’ve been dreaming about as well! Our experienced team of certified Crestron programmers can give you customized functionality of any or all of the systems in your home, which can be controlled from easy-to-use interfaces like smartphones, tablets, and/or in-wall control panels.
If you’re ready to turn your home into a fully integrated smart home, contact AVPA to get the process started.
