AVPA owner and president Matt Grisafe was recently given the opportunity to be featured in an interview with online tech magazine, Tech Company News. This publication features news about the latest technological innovations and also interviews business owners like Matt who are influential in the technology industry.
Given that AVPA is a leading Crestron and Extron programming company in San Diego that has worked on some impressive projects, its no surprise that the magazine wanted to interview Matt about his company and get his insights on how he has grown AVPA from a startup to an industry leader. You can read the entire interview with Matt here.
In the interview, Matt was given the opportunity to talk about the history of AVPA (did you know the company’s first official day of business was 9/11?) and how the company has evolved since its founding.
The interview also highlighted how AVPA is a “big/little company”. It is big in the sense that we work on some impressive programming projects all over the world and have some of the leading Crestron and Extron programming experts on our team. But we are a small company too. We don’t have a huge staff or a large amount of overhead. We run lean with a core team of talented Crestron and Extron programmers. As such, it is easier for us adapt to market changes and pursue new opportunities when they present themselves. For example, when the housing market crashed in 2010 and smart home programming work all but dried up, we were able quickly shift our focus toward more non-residential projects. Our company was able to survive when many others went under.
In the interview, Tech Company News also wanted to know about AVPA’s plans for the future. One of the things we wanted to mention was that we would be working to grow the Extron programming side of our business while continuing to provide Crestron programming and support. We recently certified another Extron programmer after we discovered that there is a shortage of qualified Extron programmers just over the California border in Arizona. We saw this as an opportunity to grow our business while providing a much-needed service in that area.
Tech Company News tweeted about their interview with Matt to their tens of thousands of followers on the day it went live, and the interview was featured on the website’s homepage for several days. We hope you’ll take a look at it and become more acquainted with our company and all we have to offer.
