Just like commercial enterprises, government agencies have diverse requirements when it comes to the audiovisual needs of their facilities. Some may only need a high-quality video conferencing system, while others will require fully integrated control systems that manage a building’s lighting, HVAC, audio, video, and more.
At AVPA, we have worked with government entities of all types—at the local, state, and federal levels—to bring them the type of functionality they need for their buildings’ systems. Most of the time, our company is brought in as a subcontractor on a larger project. There is often a general contractor who is in charge of the overall project. The general contractor will bring in a Crestron dealer to supply the building with the needed AV equipment, and the Crestron dealer will bring in our team to handle the Crestron programming aspect.
Over the years, we have built a solid reputation with many Crestron dealers as the “go-to” Crestron programmer for projects that have a lot riding on them, like government projects. We are known as a company that completes our portion of the project in a timely manner, which helps keep everyone else on schedule. With government projects, there is often little margin for error. There are very specific budgets in place and timelines that need to be adhered to. Contractors need to know that the subcontractors they bring in will do their part to keep the project on track.
AVPA is also known as a Crestron programming company that is able to handle unique and specific requests, including working on older systems in need of updating. Our talented team of Crestron programmers is able to fulfill any request that is presented to them—even ones that might stump other programmers.
Examples of Crestron Programming on Government Projects
One of the largest government projects our Crestron programming company has taken on was the programming for the San Diego Superior Courthouse. On this project, we provided the programming for 74 separate rooms, including rooms used for felony dispositions, family court proceedings, jury assembly, high-profile, high-capacity, and grand jury cases, and video arraignments. We also programmed several conference rooms. The Creston system was programmed to control the audio, video, and lighting throughout the building. This was a huge project that our team worked on for almost an entire year.
Another recent government project completed by the AVPA team was programming for an Emergency Operations Center at March Air Reserve Base. For this project, we gave base officials the ability to easily present and monitor important information used for strategic planning and training operations.
On still another government project, we worked with the Riverside County Board of Supervisors to provide them with a sophisticated system for conducting meetings in their Board Chambers in an orderly fashion. We also gave them centralized control of their building’s audio video, and lighting systems.
