Our first book, entitled Our Code, is a collection of stories, business best practices and company history. It should be equally interesting to A/V industry insiders and small business owners of all types. But those of you who have known us for a while will especially enjoy the historical details about AVPA. For example, did you know that AV Programming Associates was originally called SynchroSenses Software? I bet that most of you didn’t. Last year we celebrated the completion of our 1000th Crestron programming job. Ever consider what our very first project was? Here’s a sneak peek from the second chapter of Our Code…
After starting AVPA we worked hard to establish ourselves with Crestron and begin to make a name in the industry. We reached out looking to develop industry partnerships and plant the seeds for fruitful future relationships. Craig and I knew it would take time to build a reputation, but ultimately, we needed to land our first job and start gaining real experience.
We pushed hard, worked the relationships we had formed and won our first project. It was for a high-end conference room at the CIA in Virginia. That’s right. Our very first project was for the Central Intelligence Agency! Government projects like this aren’t a big deal to us now, having completed countless projects for various branches of the government, military and department of defense contractors. But back then it was a big deal.
The book goes live on March 31st and we’re having a party to celebrate in early April. Friends and industry partners have received an email invitation with all the details. If you didn’t receive your invite, please let us know. For those who plan to join us, please RSVP here.
