Extron Pro Programming for Audio and Video Control in Irvine

When you’re designing amenities for a new, upscale neighborhood in Orange County, California, not just any off-the-shelf AV system will do. Rather, you need an AV system that is customized. AVPA was chosen by this Orange County neighborhood’s developer to provide Extron programming that would provide one of their facilities with a system that was both sophisticated and easy to use.The client for this project was FivePoint, a design and development company specializing in mixed-use master-planned communities in Orange County, Los Angeles County, and the San Francisco Bay Area. This particular project was for the recreation center located within the Great Park Neighborhoods of Irvine, California.

In the new recreation center, which is one of the many amenities available to residents of the Great Park Neighborhoods, AVPA completed the programming for all of the facility’s audio and video zones, both indoor and out. The facility is now able to easily control audio and video switching for four zones of audio (three indoor and one outdoor), and one video zone that uses DirecTV and Blu-Ray.

The project was a fairly straightforward one as far as Extron projects are concerned, but it represents a great use of the Extron Pro series of equipment. By utilizing this equipment, we were able to deliver all of the custom features the client wanted, at a price point that was still reasonable. With Extron’s Pro Series Control Systems, our programmers are able to offer our clients systems that are simple to control, without having to sacrifice custom features or system power.

This project with FivePoint will serve as a baseline for future AV projects with the developer, which will likely also feature Extron’s Pro Series technology.
