When we started talking about writing an e-book about smart homes, we knew we wanted to illustrate the possibilities available to homeowners with Crestron programming, but we also knew we didn’t want it to be a technical document that only the tech savvy could understand. We wanted to let homeowners know that smart home technology is accessible to everyone, regardless of technical knowledge or experience.
The book’s author, AVPA President Matthew Grisafe said in the e-book’s official press release, “So many people think that smart homes are just for the ‘tech savvy,’ but that couldn’t be further from the truth. When we program a home, literally every system can be controlled from a touch panel, tablet, or smartphone. If you know how to use an iPhone or iPad, you can control or automate your home!”
Home Entertainment at the Tip of Your Finger: A Glimpse into Luxury Living Made Possible by Advance Home Automation follows a typical family living in a smart home for a day. It describes how their everyday activities are impacted by smart home technology, making their lives easier, more productive, and more luxurious. You read about how they live, work, and entertain in their home in ways you maybe didn’t even know were possible. By the end, readers should have a good sense of what their own home lives could be like if they worked with AVPA for smart home programming.
The e-book also includes brief descriptions of some of the more popular smart home features—things like distributed audio and daylight harvesting—so you can get a basic understanding of some of your options before you start meeting with home automation programmers like AVPA.
The e-book was published by Maven Publishing USA, who was also the publisher of Matthew’s previous book, Our Code, which is a collection of stories, lessons learned, and insights into the business practices of AVPA.
