WHOLE HOUSE CRESTRON CONTROL

The owners of a luxury residence that sits at the top of Mount Helix, looking northeast at El Cajon Mountain and the valley, have specific ideas about the kind of quality, performance and security they expect to enjoy in their home. As San Diego Crestron programming providers we were able to meet and exceed those high expectations in a control project that included Crestron programming for the home’s audio, video, and security camera system.Understanding that the homeowners wanted to enjoy the pleasure of luxury home entertainment and the peace of mind of a reliable security system that was easy to use, our Crestron programming team designed and programmed a system to control the high quality hardware with the homeowners’ own easy-to-use iPad devices.

For this project, we used an AV3 processor and created 16 zones of audio using the Crestron SWAMP-24X8 and the SAMPE-8 extender. By using this new technology, our team was able to segregate the audio for the inside of the home from the audio for the outside areas. In addition to the value this finished project brings to the homeowners, segregating zones in this way also made installation easier, helping to reduce installation cost, something all homeowners can appreciate.

The six zones of video installed in the home, using DM-16X16, were programmed to allow for future growth of the system. Designing a Crestron programming project in this way makes it easier for homeowners to add new hardware or to request new features as they become available or as their needs and wants change. We used the MLX-3 to control each video zone.

To create the whole house entertainment experience, we worked with multiple media devices and various types of hardware, all suited to the needs and wants of the homeowner. This involved working with 15 different house sources that included 5 cable sources, Blu-Ray, Satellite, 2 Apple TVs and 1 iServer; CEN-TRACK enabled with an Internet Radio Card and 2 CEN-IDOCs; as well as PC and Family room inputs.

Finally, for total home security, our team provided a security camera feed to the TVs in the home as well as via streaming video to touch panels and iPads.

To control both the entertainment and the security features of the home, we provided 6 touch panel interfaces (2 TSW-1050s, 2 TSW-750s and 2 iPads). Any one of these six custom touch panel interfaces allows a user (one of the homeowners or trusted guests) to control the audio and security system inside and outside the home.
